Hiking in the Vineyards
Posted by Ann Marie on 2/25/2012 to Inspirations
Spring arrived in Chardonne, Switzerland the day we arrived.  Our first full day was spent hiking a Unesco-protected cultural trail overlooking Lake Geneva. This is one of the important wine growing areas of Switzerland.  Workers are clipping and cleaning the vineyards in preparation for the new growing season.  The Lake Geneva Steamship is training its crew in preparation for the arrival of tourists in spring and summer.  We stop for a simple Swiss lunch which will give us the energy to complete our hike.  A little wine always tastes great with a delicious Swiss sausage!
