Mandarinquats are a cross between a mandarin orange and a kumquat fruit. They are small citrus fruits that have a super tart peel and lively, tangy juice on the inside.
They've added some Hawaiian sea salt, mandarin orange juice and black peppercorns. The mandarinquat peels are tangy like pickles and can be added to a tagine of cooked meat. The peels can also be sliced thinly and added to any salad or steamed vegetables.
The preserved mandarinquats have a lovely bright color and flavor.
